Henry Tolle, son of Amelia (Hume/Harn) and Stephen Tolle, born about 1811 in Lewis County, Kentucky. His mother died at his birth. There is a theory that his mother's name might have been HARN. Henry married on 17 Jul 1830 in Lewis County, Kentucky to sidney Sparks. His father gave consent, and his bondsman was Jeremiah Tolle. Sidney died, probably in childbirth, and he married agin on 18 Oct 1832 to Eleanor M. Crawford. Their bondsman was Richard M. Crawford. He was listed in his father's probate record in 1859. There were several deed transactions in his name in Lewis County. By 1860, he had moved to Adams County, Ohio where he was on the 1860 and 1870 census. The various census gave his occupation as farmer, wheelwright, and chairmaker. He died before 1880.

Sanford Tolle, son of Rachel (Harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born about 1812, and probably in Lewis County, Kentucky. He married Lydia Stivers, sometime before 1845. One source incorrectly gave her name as Stapleton. Sanford was on a Lewis County, Kentucky tax list for 1836, and then on a voter list in Adams County, Ohio. He was listed in his father's probate record in 1859. By the time of the 1870 census, Sanford had moved to Delaware County, Indiana. He died at the age of 71 on 10 Dec 1883 in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. Lydia died on 11 Apr 1900 in Delaware County.

Jonathan Tolle, son of Rachel (Harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born about 1813, probably in Lewis County, Kentucky. He married on 23 May 1833 in Adams County, Ohio to Malinda Waldron. Henry Waldron gave his permission for the bride, and Stephen Tolle signed as witness (he made his mark). Malinda was the daughter of Priscilla (Thurman) and Henry Waldron. Jonathan was on the voter lists of Adams County, Ohio, first in 1836 for Scott Township, and then in Winchester Township 1840-1848. Malinda and Jonathan had five children, and she died before 1850. Jonathan was on the 1850 census with several children, and no wife. He married again on 20 Feb 1851 in Highland County, Ohio to Rebecca Whitley. There are some deeds in his name in Adams County. Jonathan and Rebecca had one child, and she died probably in 1852. He married again to Sarah Ann Lewis on 15 Apr 1854 in Highland County, Ohio. Sarah died too. Jonathan married for a fourth time before 1858 to Emerella. Her maiden name is unknown. For the 1860 census, he was found living in Brown County. Ohio. There is a deed for him in Brown County, Ohio in 1864. The next move he made was to Highland County, Ohio. He was on the 1870 census there. He was in several of the Highland County records. In 1865 he was one of the sureties for the estate of Thomas Whitley. Also in 1865 he was appointed guardian for his 13 year old son Thomas N. Tolle. On 21 Apr 1875 Jonathan and Emerella sold 63 acres of land in adams County. Jonathan made his mark on these documents. Jonathan died intestate in 1880, and Emerella was administrix of his estate. His heirs are listed on a petition to sell land to pay debts.

Cynthia Ann Tolle, daughter of Rachel (Harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born 25 1815 in Lewis County, Kentucky. She married on 13 Oct 1834 in Adams County, Ohio to Henry Waldron Jr. The marriage was performed by Lemuel Lindsey, witness was Jonathan Tolle, and both fathers, Stephen Tolle and Henry Waldron Sr gave permission for them to marry. Henry was the son of Priscilla (Thurman) and Henry Waldron. Henry was a Civil War veteran. Cynthia died 14 Nov 1874 and is buried in the Bentonville Cemetery in Adams County, Ohio. Henry died 13 Jan 188-.

Denton Tolle, son of Rachel (Harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born about 1816 in Lewis County, Kentucky. He married Nancy Waldron on 22 Jun 1836 in Adams County, Ohio. Her father gave consent and Stephen and Jonathan Tolle were witnesses. Nancy was the daughter of Priscilla (Thurman) and Henry Waldron. They lived out their lives in Adams County, and can be found on all available census from 1850-1880. These records list his occupation as farmer, mechanic, turner, and Justice of peace. He was listed in his father's porbate. Denton died 20 Nov 1891, and Nancy died 9 Feb 1899. They are buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Adams County, Ohio. There are no dates on the marker.

Isaac Newton Tolle, son of Rachel (harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born about 1818, probably in Lewis County, Kentucky. He married on 1 Jul 1837 in Adams County, Ohio to Delila Ann Davis. Permission was given by Stephen Tolle, and witnesses were Josiah Davis and Denton Tolle. Delilah was born 1 Oct 1819, the daughter of Euphemia (Douglas) and Josiah Davis. Isaac was also often referred to as Newton. He was on the 1840 voter list of Scott Township in Adams County, and on every census for the years 1850 through 1880. He was listed in his father's probate in 1859. His occupation was noted as farmer and preacher. His death occured later than 1880. Delila died 2 May 1897.

Elijah Tolle, son of Rachel (Harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born 8 Oct 1819 in Lewis County, Kentucky. He married Rachel Jane Davis sometime before 1843. Rachel was the daughter of Euphemia (Douglas) and Josiah Davis. Elijah was on the voter lists of Winchester Township, of Adams County, Ohio, and on all of the census records from 1850 through 1880. Rachel died 24 Jun 1892, and Elijah married again to Elizabeth Jane Davis. He was a farmer, and resided in Jaybird in Adams County. He died 21 oct 1899 at the age of 80 years and 13 days. He was buried in the Unity Cemetery, in Oliver Township, Adams County. Administrator of his estate was Elizabeth J. Tolle & Stephen A. Tolle. Witnesses were F.D. Bayless and A.C. Sparks. The final distribution was published on 30 Mar 1900.

JEFFERSON TOLLE6 (Stephen5; Jonathan4; Roger3; Tobias2; Roger1)
Jefferson Tolle, son of Rachel (Harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born about 1821 in Lewis County, Kentucky. He married on 23 Jun 1844 in Adams County, Ohio to Nancy Stivers. One source incorrectly gave her name as Stapleton. His name was on the 1843 voter list fo Winchester Township of Adams County, and the census records of 1850 through 1880.He was admitted to membership to Southern Ohio Christian Conference in 1852, and ordained in 1853. He withdrew in 1866, but returned in 1872. His membership terminated in 1875 when he joined the Kentucky Christioan Conference for a second time. In one record, it says he was told that they ran preachers out of Kentucky, but he laid a revolver each side of the bible and stayed. In 1859, he was executor of his father's estate. It is not known when he or Nancy died, or where they are buried.

Willis Tolle, son of Rachel (Harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born about 1824 in Lewis County, Kentucky. he married on 15 Oct 1846 in Adams County, Ohio to Sarah Stivers. He was on a voter list in 1846 for Winchester Township in Admas County, ohio. It must have been soon after that when he moved to Indiana, where on 18 Dec 1848 he purchased 20 acres of land in Blackford County. He paid $100 and it was located in the Northeast Quarter of Southwest Quarter of Section 1, Township 23, Range 11. Later, in a Delaware County, Indiana history,he is said to own land in Section 12 of Union Township, near the town of Eaton in Delaware County. He was in all of the Federal Census records for the years 1850 through 1880. Nothing more is regarding the death and burial of Willis and Sarah at this time. Some branches of his descendants use the TOLL spelling

James Tolle, son of Rachel (Harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born about 1827 in Adams County, Ohio. His wife was named Ellen, but nothing more is known of her. They were on the 1850 census of Adams County, Ohio. He is named in his father's probate record in 1859. One record says he left home and was never heard from again. This compiler has found some clues that he may have gone to LaSalle County, Illinois, and this theory needs to be studied.

Emily Permillia Tolle, daughter of Rachel (Harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born about 1828 in Adams County, Ohio. She married in Adams County, Ohio on 25 Oct 1849 to William Bennington. She was called Ameilia on the marriage record. The service was performed by Richard Ramsay JP. William was the son of Ruth (Liming) and William Bennington. They were in Brown County, Ohio in 1850, and she is named in her father's probate in 1859. Nothing is known of her death date.

William Fletcher Tolle, son of Rachel (Harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born 12 Sep 1829 in Adams County, Ohio. He was married about 1849 to Euphamy M. Bunny Ann Davis, daughter of Euphemia (Douglas) and Josiah Davis. This first wife died in Jul 1853, and about 1854 he married Lucinda (Lovejoy) Wilson. She was the widow of John Wilson, and had several children surnamed Wilson. She was born 30 May 1822, and was the daughter of Elizabeth (Cain) and David Lovejoy. William is listed in his father's probate record in 1859. He was on all the Adams County census from 1850 through 1880. His occupation is listed as Cooper, and residence as Blue Creek. Stephen died 2 Dec 1887 and Lucinda died 26 Jan 1888. They are both buried in Moor's Chapel in Adams County, Ohio.

Milton P. Tolle, son of Rachel (Harn) and Stephen Tolle, was born in May of 1832 in Adams County, Ohio. He married about 1850 to Harriet Amanda Davis, daughter of Euphemia (Douglas) and Josiah Davis. She died before 1852, and Milton married a second time to Sarah Ann Whitley in Highland County, Ohio on 14 Apr 1853. He was on the 1850 census of Adams County, Ohio, but by 1854 he was in Highland County, Ohio on a tax list for that year. on 9 Jun 1865 he was one of the sureties to the estate of Thomas Whitley, and on 5 Sep 1867, he was appointed guardian to Thomas H. Stewart, son of William Stewart. He was on the census of Highland County from 1860 through 1910. He died at the age of 78, and is buried in the Pleasant Hill cemetery, Fairfield Township, Highland County, Ohio.
